Hey everyone 🐾 I'm Rejaine. I'm the founder of Furhaus, and I'm so excited to start sharing the Furhaus story here.

I live in Cronulla, in Sydney's south, with my partner Beverley. I came to Australia from Brazil almost 10 years ago. I work at Atlassian as a Senior Software Engineer by day. By night and on weekends, I'm building Furhaus.

This isn't a side hustle. It's the thing I'm building so I can spend my whole life on it eventually 🐾

How it started

I'm a true animal lover ❤️, and Furhaus started the way most real things do — with a problem nobody had solved properly. I'll tell you the story below, so stay with me on this exciting journey.

I had and have four dogs 🐕:

• 🐶 Simba (Sisi, Si, Simbão, Simbuxco) — 17 years old 👼 29/01/2021
• 🐶 Lupolino (Lupo, Ninu, Noni, Noninhu) — 15 years old today
• 🐶 Nala (Nala Maria, Nalita) — 4 years old
• 🐶 Apolo (Polu, Polin, Politu, Lobisomin) — 3 years old

I came to Australia in 2017 to learn English for 6 months only, but life changed and I decided I had to stay for many reasons (better job, better life were the main ones). Back then I had Simba and Lupolino, and I used to fly back to Brazil every six months just to see them (it was crazy hard, hehe). It was so heartbreaking to leave them with my mum and family — there were so many moments I felt so guilty about it (still do sometimes), but what matters is I gave them the best life I knew and so so so much love. Life isn't easy, and I made it work because I knew my mum and family were taking incredible care of them, with so much love. I could still see them every day on the phone, and in person every six months.

In Brazil, I had a system for teaching my dogs to use their pads, and it worked perfectly. No one would believe how well-behaved my dogs were when it came to going on the pad. With Lupolino, I'd give him a command before leaving home or before bed, and he'd go and do his pee and poo right where I asked. It's the cutest thing, and it just works.

The problem I had — hundreds of times — was the leaking around the pad. As a mum of boy dogs, you know that sometimes they miss the spot, and it's just a mess everywhere. Not to mention that pads around the house are so ugly.

Simba and Lupolino, my two true loves. I love them so much, and I always will. No words can really explain ✨❤️

In 2021, Simba flew as an angel and left an empty space in my heart. But Lupolino is still here filling it — and a year later, my niece got two dogs for our home in Brazil: Nala and Polu. The world started to shine again, with Lupo, Nala, and Polu.

I never got dogs or cats here in Australia, because having a puppy is a huge responsibility and a serious commitment that I didn't feel ready for. But I always wanted to. So I get my fix by babysitting friends' cats and dogs whenever I can.

While I don't have dogs of my own here yet, that's how I get to enjoy life with my neighbours' and friends' pets — and the birds that visit me every day.

Now, almost 10 years later, I feel ready to bring a dog into my life in Australia 💛🐾 — and before that, I started looking into solutions to make my apartment work for one.

I've trained every one of my dogs since they were puppies — Simba, Lupolino, Nala, Apolo. I know the patience, the repetition, the small celebrations when they finally get it. I also know the other side: caring for senior dogs whose bodies change. With Simba in his last years, we had to move his pad spot more than once because he couldn't manage the stairs anymore. I understand both worlds — the puppy phase and the senior phase — and the everyday reality in between.

I know the pain. I know the guilt when they miss the spot. I know the small wins. And I know exactly what's missing.

The current options on the market don't make me happy. I want something I can carry around with me to any room — for trips, for hotels, for when a friend babysits, and for my own apartment, where we have carpets in the rooms and Beverley is always (rightly) worried about damaging them.

That's how I decided to build something to fix it.

And as soon as I have my first Loohaus in my hands, I can't wait to go find my first Aussie little dog 🐾 I'm not sure yet whether I'll adopt a senior or a puppy. Maybe both — in steps. Either way, the second they walk through the door, the home will be ready for them.

At Atlassian, I learnt how to build world-class products. The company has given me incredible discipline and skills, and I'm bringing all of that into Furhaus to create the best brand in the world for solving these everyday problems for our fur babies and the people who love them.

We're starting with Loohaus — the indoor dog bathroom designed with a system that won't leak, is easy to clean, and folds flat so you can take it anywhere.

Designed for Real Homes

The current pet market gives you two choices: cheap plastic that breaks your living room aesthetic, or boutique products that don't actually solve the problem. We don't believe in either compromise.

Furhaus designs for the way Australians actually live with dogs — in apartments with carpet, in homes with clean interiors, in shared spaces where humans and pets coexist equally. Every product is intentional: how it looks, how it works, where it sits in your home. We obsess over the details so your home keeps feeling like yours.

Designed in Sydney, Built to Last

Furhaus is a luxury design house, environments for dogs, pets, and the spaces they share with us. We exist to close the aesthetic gap in a pet industry that has, for too long, asked you to choose between loving your dog and loving your home. We refuse the choice. We want both, happy, warm, and cozy together.

Loohaus was designed in Sydney with one of Australia's leading industrial design studios. Not because it was easier, because we wanted control over every line, every material, every detail.

Pet products have lived too long in ugly plastic and apology. Most are designed for the warehouse, not the living room, they don't belong in the home you've spent years curating.

Furhaus closes that gap.

The world's most discerning brands, Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, have already stepped into the pet space. Not because pets are a trend, but because the people who love them have always deserved beautiful things to share with them. The shift isn't from utility to luxury. It's from invisibility to design.

Furhaus exists for that owner, the one who already invests in beauty for themselves and their home, and refuses to accept that their pets should be the exception.

Pads are made with environment-friendly materials, chosen for performance and responsibility. We're building a take-back program so the pads you use don't end up in landfill. Every choice we make is a choice toward longevity, for the product, for the planet, and for the way you live with your dog. 🌿

Our Mission

To make every space your dog goes, your home, your work, the world, designed with them in mind.

We're starting with the indoor bathroom because it's the daily friction nobody talks about. From there: the kitchen, the bedroom, the office, public spaces, hotels, airports, eventually pet-integrated buildings.

This isn't about selling more products. It's about closing the gap between the love we have for our dogs and the way our world is designed for them. 🐾

In parallel, we're building strong partnerships with the best premium pet brands worldwide, so your dog is always covered, always in good company.

And we're going further than the home. In Australia, regulations around dogs and cats are strict, they matter, and we follow them. But in Europe and the United States, regulations are more inclusive: pets are welcomed almost everywhere, alongside the same safety and care. Furhaus is working to help shift things here. We want to live in an Australia where loving your dog doesn't end at your front door.

There is so much to come, from private homes to public spaces, even regulation and policy. If you love your dog the way we love ours, you won't want to miss any of it. 🐾

Right now we're in the Pre-launch Founding 100 phase. The first 100 reservations of Loohaus are open — $50 deposit, fully refundable, locks in founding pricing for life. These are our very first customers, the people who back this before there's anything to back. We're building it together over the next eight months, and shipping in January 2027.

After that comes everything we're cooking up for you 🐾
